Carlos is certified through the PTR and PPTA and has attended multiple USTA seminars in the process of becoming an accomplished coach. He has been part of the NCRC staff since 2012 and spent his summers coaching at The Country Club of New Canaan for the past 12 years. In 2014, Carlos served as their junior coordinator. On behalf of the partnership between NCRC and the New Canaan Department of Parks and Recreation, he coordinates the spring and summer tennis clinics held at Mead Park.
Carlos began his tennis career in 1999, when he emigrated from Guatemala after serving in the army and practicing martial arts. While it is exciting to coach all ages, his favorite students are beginners as well as intermediate level adults who are focused on learning how to improve their game.
