Loreto Alonso, USPTA Master Professional
Loreto is a certified USPTA Professional and has been the serving as the junior coordinator at the New Canaan Field Club since 2015. Loreto’s winter months have been in Tampa, FL working for Net Results-All American Tennis at the Hillsborough Community College. She was responsible for designing group tennis classes and teaching private lessons, organizing events and tournaments, and managing men’s and women’s teams.
The native of Oviedo, Spain, also brings in experience as a collegiate coach. She was an assistant coach for the women's team at her alma mater, the University of South Florida, during the 2015 season and was named the assistant coach for the Saint Leo University women’s team during the 2016 and the 2017 seasons. She helped with recruiting, making schedules, dealing with team finances, and developing and implementing specific training programs and skill development.
While competing, Loreto proved impressive as well. While at USF, she guided her team to the 2014 American Athletic Conference title. In the season, she was named the AAC Player of the Year and the Most Outstanding Performer of the AAC tournament. Over her career, she earned multiple awards including five Player of the Week honors and was named a team captain from 2012-14.
Loreto graduated Cum Laude from USF in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in physical education, specializing in exercise science. She recently graduated from Saint Leo earning her MBA in Sports Business. She is looking forward to working at NCRC where she can use her knowledge, skill set and experience to improve and work with all of the cliental.
